You can keep your clothes on for this one thank you very much willow.A great dance where youy get to dance with your patner and everyone else's and not get into trouble. This dance is a double circle dance where you get to dance with everyone else's partner. I heard a saying once that the barn dance is a dance where 50% of the dances enjoy it and the ladies don't but I must admit all the years I've been teaching this dance everyone has smiles on their faces and you hear lots of gooday's and the odd hello. The great thing about alot of these dances is that sometimes the dances teachers you a new step this dance is no exception.The Cumberland Reel is a long way set dance where most of the focus is on couples one and two.No one misses out in this dance as well as clapping and enjoying the music the other couples all move up the set to become couple no one and two,It\'s a good inbetween dance as it gives most of the dances to catch their breath.(even for a short time). The Drongo Dance $2 aud

This dance is a basically musicial chairs in dancing. Known in some circles as the 9 pins Quadrille you need 4 couples and one centre person (the drongo) After a whole lot of circling 5 dances circle till th emusic stops whoever doesn\'t have a partner is in the middle.It is fantastic seeing the smiles on peoples faces and hearing the laughter which this dance evolves with all our clients. The Flying Pieman $2 aud

The Gay Gordons $2 aud

The Haymakers $2 aud

This is a long way set dance where for some of the dance the top and bottom couple are dancing with each other while the rest clap along waiting for the top couple to cast off and change position.Everyone gets a chance to become the top and bottom couple. The Manchester Galop $2 aud

Having never been to Manchester I really don't know the origins of this fun dance.It's a circle dance with a partner which starts off with steps to catch your breath ready for part 2 of the dance where you polka like a mad thing round the dance floor. I get amazed that even though this looks like dodgem car dancing there is never any accidents. The Pride of Erin $2 aud

The Sweedish Masquarde $2 aud

This is a circle dance which has 3 parts to it.i like to think that the 3 parts are how the differant classes of old may have danced. Part 1 is very royal and you can imangine people with their noses in the air Part 2 is the well lets call them the middle class with not so much snobbinish and part 3 the workers enjoying a polka and a bit of fun.Of couse the original concept of the dance may never been anywhere like that but hey the dancers have always enjoyed the role playing.As well as the dance steps there are diagrams how to set up the dance and suggestions for the type of music needed for this dance.

The Troika $2 aud

This is a little bush dance from Russia (or so my grandfather told me) A dance where you only need lines of 3 people. You get to master a step called threading the needle and have a lot of fun. The Virginia Reel $2 aud

This is one of the best dances in my opinion done in a night of bush dancing. This dance has 3 parts. Parts 1 and 3 are no worries but part 2after a walk through there is usually a cry of Your Joking we can't do that its so hard (it isn't really). ( Ihear this cry twice a night) Than as the dance progresses with some music and the confidence grows because hey I was right it\'s not that hard again all you see and hear from the stage is smiles and laughter.
This is a fantastic dance which children and adults can do.

The Waltz $2 aud

Grab your partner a dances that could be very romantic or just a good chance to have a waltz.There's just something about a waltz which you can't explain (so I wont) but it brings on to the dancefloor neally everyone.You should learn how to waltz.As well as the dance steps there are diagrams how to set up the dance and suggestions for the type of music needed for this dance.

The Waves $2 aud

This dance is like the Virginia Reel. A fantastic dance to watch from the stage and another dance when walking through part 2 there are cry's of disbalief.It never really surprises me that most people get the waves and those who don't well thsy have great fun and no - one has ever got sea sick from this dance that Is not to hard for children.
